This splendid hotel complex sits independently on a hilltop on the edge of Casino di Terra, a small village which lies in the
southern part of the province of Pisa in the very heart of Tuscany. Just a short distance away are the towns of Volterra,
San Gimignano, Pisa and the wonderful sandy beaches of the Costa degli Etruschi (Etruscan coast).
Hotel Rooms
The hotel offers over 90 rooms which are divided between 3 separate buildings, formerly 3 farmhouses, and which have been very carefully and skilfully renovated and modernised.

All the rooms have been decorated in the typical Tuscan style with chestnut wooden furniture, beamed ceilings, terracotta tiled flooring and
rustic furnishings. (For more details see below).
There is also a bar, wine bar and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace available for guests.
Conference Rooms
The hotel offers very tasteful and modern conference rooms,
large and small, which are all equipped with high-tech apparatus to meet the needs and demands of business clients and guests, whether it be for conferences, meetings, presentations, displays or exhibitions. A total of 5 meeting rooms and conference halls are available with a total capacity ranging from 25 to 250 people.. Also suitable for fashion shows or public promotions. The restaurant offers various buffet style arrangements for business lunches and working lunches and can remain open throughout the course of business allowing for flexibility. The larger halls also contain an American Coffee Bar and offer restaurant service for coffee breaks and working lunches. All the conference rooms and halls have air conditioning.
Cycling
The surrounding geographical area of gently sloping hills and stunning scenery offers fabulous opportunities for cycling excursions. Both national and international professional cyclists train here in the local area, especially because of the wonderful mild climate in winter which offers perfect training conditions. Cyclists with racing bikes can train along the winding roads tackling the slopes and hills, while those on mountain bikes can train across the Tuscan hills riding between olive groves and vineyards and along the many tracks of the Mediterraner Macchia. The hotel reception will be pleased to give you plenty of information and useful tips. There is a storage room available for bikes together with a small workshop for repairs. No other area in Europe is so suitable for such pleasurable and enjoyable tours as here in Tuscany. Bikes are available for hire from the reception.

Health, beauty and fitness: The Wellness Centre offers an oasis of relaxation and a wealth of health and beauty treatments and ensures that guests enjoy a relaxing and therapeutic stay. There is also a fitness centre with gym, Turkish baths, sauna, Jacuzzi, solarium with UVA for face and body, and fully trained staff and qualified specialists on hand to advise you. The Turkish Baths
The first Hamam originate from the Far East and date back to the 16th century. After showering, visitors enter a world of warmth and steam. After approx. 10 minutes one then takes a refreshing cold shower to rinse off the sweat and revitalise and encourage the blood circulation. After repeating the same process one then moves on to a massage or hydro massage.

The hotel complex lies south of Pisa, in the northern part of the Maremma region, a region rich in minerals and famous especially for the precious alabaster stone marketed mainly in the town of Volterra. The mild climate in winter makes the area an ideal destination for vacation at any time of the year. All the famous and important historical towns and cities of Tuscany are within easy reach of the hotel as well as the glorious Costa degli Etruschi, the Etruscan coast, which is just a few minutes away by car and where one can bathe in summer in beautifully clean sea water or take long walks along deserted beaches in winter.

Volterra: 20 km
Volterra is situated in a magnificent position on a precipitous hill (550m) with open views in every direction across a splendid landscape of rolling hills and across the Cecina valley. It is a grim medieval walled town, the successor to an Etruscan city of much greater extent. The town possesses a large number of Roman, Etruscan and Medieval treasures, which is rare indeed for a town of this size. There are 3 museums:

- Pinacoteca
- Museo d'arte Sacra
Volterra is particularly famous worldwide for its Alabaster craftsmanship. A town with lots to offer and lots to explore and bustling during the summer months with various cultural events taking place.
Pomarance
The beautiful winding hill-road from Volterra to Massa Marittima, with fine views, diverges to the old walled town of Pomarance. Well worth a visit to its centre with wonderful italian "Palazzi" dating back to the 19th century, and the church with paintings by Roncalli.
Montecatini Val di Cecina
An old hill town in a spectacular position with views across the Cecina valley. The town is dominated by a very impressive tower built by the ancient Belforti family. Montecatini Val di Cecina has a typical medieval centre with characteristic "Palazzi" such as the Palazzo Pretorio, or the church of S. Biagio, which dates back to the 14th century.
The area surrounding Montecatini Val di Cecina is full of picturesque medieval towns and villages nestled in beautiful countryside:
Castello di Querceto
Medieval village surrounded by Mediterranean Macchia woods. The rectory S. Giovanni Battista displays a typical Romanesque style from the 11th century.
La Sassa
Picturesque medieval village towards the east overlooking the Valle della Sterza. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1008. The tower, built in 1100 as part of the fortress, is worth a visit.
Further Sightseeing Highlights
Equally interesting to visit and explore are the historical settlement towns and villages of Casaglia, Gello, Buriano, Miemo and the former copper mine in Montecatini Val di Cecina. Should you already be familiar with the area and know Tuscany quite well and perhaps enjoy sculptures and, or tarot cards, we recommend a visit to the magical Giardino dei Tarocchi (Tarot gardens), near Capalbio, edge of the village of Garavicchio (southern Maremma), 1 hour away by car. The famous French artist, Niki de Saint Phalle (1930 - May 2002) designed these gardens together with partner Jean Tinguely. It became their dream as a result of a visit to the architect Gaudi's park in Barcelona. They began their project in 1979 and took 15 yrs, at their own cost, to finish their masterpiece. The park contains 22 tarot figure sculptures, 12-15 m tall adorned and decorated with mosaic, glass and ceramic stone.
Cooking and Cookery Courses in Tuscany
From March until November guests can take part in Tuscan cookery courses together with established Chefs de Cuisine.
The courses take place over one week.

The courses are divided into 2 levels.
Should you wish to book 2 weeks (2 courses) you will receive Euro 100,00. discount for the second week.
The courses begin 10.00am - 13.30pm
(courses include lunch, wine and soft drinks)
