The Country Cottage Chianti 2 is part of a former Tuscan farmstead that has been carefully restored very recently. Ideally located in the midst of the Chianti Classico region between Florence and Siena, the cottage is set in some of the most beautiful scenery in Tuscany surrounded by rolling hills of woods, vineyards and olive trees with spectacular views across the valley. It enjoys utter peace and tranquillity surrounded by the beauty and nature of the countryside, whilst being only 5 minutes drive from the nearest village, Castellina in Chianti. The cottage has maintained its original charm and true rustic Tuscan feel. There is a large living room diner with a fireplace which leads out to a large panoramic terrace. The kitchen is small but fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms and in total the cottage sleeps 4-5 people. The rooms have been furnished almost exclusively with antique furniture and the walls have been decorated with old prints, etchings and paintings. Outside there is a barbeque and a whirlpool for relaxing while admiring the views. The area is ideal for walkers, nature lovers and all outdoor fans wanting to relax away from hustle and bustle. Of course here in the heart of the Chianti countryside, wine lovers will certainly appreciate and savour the area, native to „Gallo Nero“ known as one of the best Chianti wines. Centrally located in Tuscany, the villa is also ideally located for visits and excursions to Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, eventually even to Cinque Terre, just to name but a few examples. Situated just a few metres away is a large villa: Villa Chianti 1. which also belongs to the same property and is available for holiday rental. There is a large swimming pool (6 x 16m) set next to the Villa with sun loungers for relaxing. Nearby on foot is also a public tennis court. 
PLEASE NOTE! Guests staying at the Cottage Chianti 2 as well as guests staying in the Villa Chianti 1 share use of the swimming pool, the surrounding terrace and gardens. A special price can be arranged for the rental of both properties, thus securing private use of the pool and outdoor areas. In addition to the villa there is also an adjacent party room available for hire which contains two spacious rooms with sofas and a large dining table. Outside at the front there is a large terrace with access to the garden. A splendid location for celebrations, parties or weddings with space for up to 50 guests. There is a barbeque grill and a storage room available as well as ample parking space. A few details about your hosts: Duccio, the father, is a professor (Latin and Greek) and sommelier. He takes charge and tends personally to the business, producing Vin Santo, made from the grapes from his own vineyards. The wine cellars are located in the cellar of the Villa Chianti 1. On request, tours with wine-tasting can be arranged. Pierangela, the mother, is also a professor at the university in Siena. She lectures and teaches "Italian as a foreign language" and has written various reference and textbooks. Pierangela takes care of the two holiday properties herself and looks after the guests. She also attends to the fruit and vegetable gardens on the property and, in addition to the olive oil production made from the olives grown on the property, produces liquers and jams. She has planted 40 fruit trees, in particular special types of fruit tree that were once commonly found around the region and only in Tuscany, but that have virtually disappeared from the market. Some of her rediscovered native fruits for example are the „pera cocomera” (cucumber-pear), “mela rossa fiorentina” (red florentine apple), “albicocco luizet” (a particular type of apricot) as well as many more! On request, Pierangela is happy to show guests around and allow them to sample the fruits. Beatrice, the daughter, studies politics and music.
