Wonderfully situated in the midst of classical Tuscan countryside between the hills around Pisa, and surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, fruit plantations, fields and woods, this extensive wine estate covers a total area of approximately 8 hectares. There is a large and spacious park with a playground area for children, 2 swimming pools, one of which suitable for children, an outdoor grill area with barbeque and oven, as well as a gazebo for outdoor dining. The agriturismo also offers traditional Tuscan cuisine at its own restaurant, with all dishes freshly prepared with love and pride by the in-house chef Stefano and Mama Anna. From the 3 hectares of vineyards and 2 hectares of olive groves, the wines of Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. and the red wines I.G.T and a superb extra-virgin olive oil are produced here on the estate. A stay at Santopietro ensures a classic Tuscan experience for both young and old! All around the Agriturismo there are various nature trails and organised archaeological tours that one can participate in, as well as ceramic and pottery courses, cookery courses (Tuscan cuisine) which are also on offer here. Why not take a tour of the estate and discover more about wine and olive oil production. All the courses and tours available here are carried out by specialised guides and qualified personnel, and are suitable for both children and adults. Over the years the Agriturismo Santopietro has been working closely together with local kindergardens, schools and adult learning institutions at all levels. At the beginning of each new school year there is a gathering of all teaching staff who are particularly interested in nature and the local environment and where special attention and emphasis is placed on the educational development and conservation of the 'native soil', local heritage and traditions. The following are examples of some of the seminars and tours offered by local guides and expert personnel: - Converting the grape to wine - Converting the olive to oil - Traditional breadmaking - The organic vegetable garden - The breeding of silk worms - Impressions from the farming world (photography) - Nature trails and naturalistic tours - The handling of clay over the years - Archaeological laboratories - The Etruscan's gold - Folklore and traditions Reservations for visits/tours are recommended to be made in advance and can be combined: ½ day, full day or several days with accommodation and board. Please advise of children with particular allergies! Naturally the Agriturismo is equipped and follows all the necessary stipulated safety requirements. Locally (1-3 km) : Shopping centre, tennis courts, fresh water fishing, riding stables, pizzerias and restaurants. 4 km away is Casciana Terme, tourism centre for thermal baths and health spas.
